Metallic Embellishing: Dinnerware with gold or platinum embellishments (examples include but are not limited to Anmut My Colour, Amazonia, etc.) is not microwave safe. Hand washing is recommended; the occasional gentle cycle is fine.

Our table cutlery is made from 18/10 stainless steel. Rust found on cutlery is usually surface rust. These rust particles detach from non-stainless items during cleaning in the dishwasher, e.g. steel pots, and adhere to the surface of cutlery, in particular knife blades. However, this has nothing to do with the quality of the cutlery. The rust deposits are caused by an external factor.
If this surface rust has not yet adhered too strongly, you can remove it using a standard stainless steel cleaner, e.g. Etolit or a ceramic glass hob cleaner.
Grey/black discolouration is usually caused by superficial deposits resulting from contact between the porcelain and metal objects. For example, cutlery or other metal items cleaned in the dishwasher with the tableware, a damaged dishwasher basket or Cromargan steel sinks. If the coating has not yet adhered too strongly, you can remove it using a standard stainless steel cleaner, e.g. Etolit or a ceramic glass hob cleaner.

NOBLESSE is a special decor that is only available from retail outlets. With the exception of the cups, the ROYAL collection has an identical shape and therefore NOBLESSE and ROYAL can be ideally combined.

All porcelain items from our current range can be used in the oven. Please avoid any sudden changes in temperature, i.e. heat the items up slowly and leave them to cool down. Do not place items in a preheated oven.
However, you can heat up porcelain with hot water or in an oven at a low temperature and then place it in a preheated oven if specified in the recipe.
You rightly expect high quality and product safety from Villeroy & Boch. No lead, cadmium or other heavy metals are added to the glazes and porcelain compounds. Heavy metals may be present in paints or decorative images as complexing agents. Before the market launch of the product and at regular intervals, internal and external laboratories conduct independent tests on heavy metal levels. In general, all our decors, with the exception of tableware with precious metal components, are microwave-safe. Decors with gold or platinum plating are not suitable for use in the microwave. You can find details for each item on our website.
