Our range includes everything you could possibly need at the table – from simple sets with a knife , fork and spoon to comprehensive cutlery sets for 12 people. Many collections also include special cutlery and accessories, such as cake slices and knife rests in matching designs. We have even thought of particular specialities. When you serve snails and white wine from Alsace, the special cutlery from Villeroy & Boch ensures that you and your guests are perfectly prepared and no snail shell can escape. However exclusive they look, all the sets are absolutely suitable for everyday use. The robust stainless steel is dishwasher-safe, non-rusting and resistant to the acids in food.
Regardless of whether it is in its natural colour, silver plated or partially gold plated, a cutlery set is always the ideal companion for the porcelain crockery of the Villeroy & Boch collections. The silver-plated cutlery range with refined reliefs, for example, perfectly shows off the softly shimmering premium bone porcelain. The shine of partially gold-plated handles, picked up in the gold applications on the crockery, also gives the entire look of the table festive flair. Even colour highlights, which are particularly striking next to white porcelain or once again underscore fine décor, are possible with some cutlery sets. Always listen to your own taste when choosing a set – the sophisticated designs mean that it is almost impossible to make a style faux pas.
Just like in our porcelain and crystal items, we always use premium materials when producing cutlery sets. The figures 18/10 that you will find on most of our sets mean that it is a particularly high-quality alloy of 18% chromium and 10% nickel. This ensures that the stainless steel of the forks and spoons give off no taste and are easy to clean in the dishwasher. The stainless steel knife blades contain no nickel. In some collections, Villeroy & Boch has chosen naturally-grained fine wood handles for the steak knives. Gentle cleaning by hand is recommended to ensure that these sets retain their special look for longer.
Alongside many other presents, a beautiful stainless steel cutlery set has long been a popular wedding gift. It is the perfect choice, not only because a cutlery case is a useful household item at the start of a marriage, but also because it symbolises the tools the couple will need to face the little challenges of everyday life. Just like the single person's crockery that is traditionally smashed on the eve of the wedding and replaced with a matching set, the knives, forks and spoons need to match as well as the bride and groom do. A cutlery set can also be a loving and valuable gift for children moving into their own flat for the first time, representing the first step towards a well-cared-for new home, at least on the table.
